Mental Health First Aider
MHFAIDER
This course is for those who would like to become a Mental Health First Aider, whether in the workplace or as an individual, to gain knowledge and skills to spot signs of poor mental health, be confident to start a conversation, and signpost to support.
In addition to the course, you will gain access to ongoing learning and the MHFAider App®.
As an MHFAider® you'll be able to:

Recognise poor mental health and provide first-level support and early intervention

Encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other supports

Practise active listening and empathy
-
Have a conversation with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma

Discuss the MHFAider® role in depth, including boundaries and confidentiality

Practise self-care

Know how to use the support App®
-
Know how to access a dedicated text service by Shout
Format

Online and in-person courses available
-
Each course is delivered over two days, or four mornings/afternoons.

Learners will be trained over four live sessions, covering 14 hours of content.

Learning takes place through instructor training, group discussions, individual/group activities.
-
Each session builds on the previous, to enable confidence in using the MHFA action plan.

Numbers are limited to 16 so learners can be kept safe and supported.

Learning content will be accessible and inclusive (please contact if additional support is required).
